Abu Dhabi Sports Council Gains Licensing Powers Over Sports Sector
The council will regulate sporting establishments and issue professional accreditation under a new Executive Council resolution.
The Abu Dhabi Executive Council has expanded the mandate of Abu Dhabi Sports Council, giving it authority to regulate and license sporting establishments and entities across the emirate.
A resolution issued on September 23rd also gives the council responsibility for professional accreditation and for issuing licences to sports professionals working within authorised establishments and entities.
The council will coordinate with relevant authorities when carrying out its licensing and accreditation responsibilities. Its Board of Directors will draft the detailed regulations, which must then be approved by the Abu Dhabi Executive Council before taking effect.
