Fôu by Farah Opens First Physical Store In District 5
You’d have to be a fou to miss District 5’s newest bakery opening.

There’s a new reason to head to District 5, and it smells like butter, sugar, and a little bit of magique. Fôu Patisserie, the beloved online bakery known for its XXXL cakes and unconventional confections, has officially opened its first brick-and-mortar space, bringing its signature je ne sais quoi to one of Cairo’s buzziest neighborhoods.
Founded by Farah El Charkawy, Fôu is the product of an unexpected pivot. After time in the legal world, Farah followed her passion to France, where she trained in pastry arts before launching Fôu as a cloud kitchen concept. Now, with the opening of her physical store, El Charkawy has created a space inspired by the French salon du thé: sunny, intimate, and just eccentric enough to reflect the brand’s playful spirit.
Chronicled in the video series ‘Ready? Set! Fôu!’, the journey from digital to District 5 has been a long-awaited leap. Whether you’re after a conventional croissant or a cake that defies all sizing logic, Fôu is here. Are you Ready? Set! Fôu!
