UAE to Host 20 Scholars for Ramadan Programmes
Scholars from Egypt to Indonesia will lead nationwide lectures forums and Quranic study sessions during Ramadan.
Around 20 Muslim scholars will take part in nationwide religious programmes across the United Arab Emirates during the holy month of Ramadan, leading sermons, lectures and community forums in mosques and public venues.
The initiative brings together scholars from across the Arab world and Asia, including Egypt, Oman, Bahrain, Morocco, Mauritania, Jordan, Lebanon, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Their participation forms part of a comprehensive Ramadan programme featuring religious guidance, Quranic study and community engagement.
Key events include the ‘With Wisdom’ sermon series and specialised Quranic study sessions known as ‘scientific chairs’. A forum marking 30 years of the Unified Friday Sermon will coincide with Zayed Humanitarian Day, observed annually on the 19th of Ramadan, under the theme ‘The UAE Platform: A Forward-Looking Vision for the Voice of Wisdom and the Message of Tolerance and Compassion’.
Additional forums will explore the religious and cultural heritage of historic mosques, including the ‘Minarets of Al Ain’ event, which highlights sites such as the heritage Al Nattala Mosque in Al Ain Oasis. The ‘Domes’ forum will convene academics and specialists from diverse disciplines, while the ‘One Home’ lecture series and evening seminars will focus on strengthening family and social values.
Community initiatives such as ‘Emirati Neighbourhoods’ and ‘Zayed’s Will’ are also scheduled throughout the month. For the first time, Friday sermons during Ramadan will centre on reflective themes drawn from chapters of the Holy Quran. Quranic programming will further include the broadcast of the ‘Emirati Reciters Quranic Programme’, referred to as ‘Emirati Voices’, on national radio stations.
This year’s Ramadan coincides with the UAE’s ‘Year of the Family’ initiative, with the programme structured to reinforce family cohesion and social responsibility through coordinated national efforts and digital outreach.
