UAE Ranks First in Arab World in Global Knowledge Index 2025
Saudi Arabia placed second and Qatar third, while Switzerland, Singapore and Sweden led the global rankings.
The United Arab Emirates has emerged as the top-performing Arab state in the 2025 Global Knowledge Index (GKI), a comprehensive assessment of national knowledge economies. The results highlight the UAE’s strengths in infrastructure, information and communications technology, education and research innovation relative to its regional peers. Saudi Arabia placed second among Arab countries and Qatar ranked third. Globally, Switzerland led the index, followed by Singapore and Sweden. The Global Knowledge Index provides a composite assessment of education, research, innovation, information technology and the economy’s capacity to generate and apply knowledge. The 2025 rankings were previewed under the theme “Knowledge Markets: Developing Sustainable Communities,” marking ten years of the Knowledge Summit as a forum on knowledge and development.
