Abu Dhabi Police Launch E-Scooter Safety Campaign
Abu Dhabi Police and Abu Dhabi Mobility engage riders across the island to reinforce compliance with traffic laws and safe riding practices.
A field awareness campaign targeting electric scooter users has been carried out on Abu Dhabi Island as part of efforts to enhance road safety and strengthen compliance with traffic regulations.
The initiative was implemented by the Abu Dhabi Police through its Department of Traffic and Patrols, in cooperation with the Integrated Transport Centre – Abu Dhabi Mobility. Officers engaged directly with riders in key areas across the island.
According to authorities, the campaign forms part of ongoing measures to address the rapid growth in the use of modern mobility devices, including electric scooters, while reinforcing a culture of responsible and safe riding.
The awareness drive highlighted requirements related to authorised scooter specifications, adherence to designated lanes and the consistent use of safety equipment. Riders were also reminded to avoid prohibited roads and to understand applicable traffic laws and official instructions governing personal mobility devices.
Officials stressed that compliance with regulations is essential to reduce accidents and serious injuries and to safeguard public safety. The initiative aligns with broader road safety strategies implemented by Abu Dhabi Police and local transport authorities to strengthen oversight of personal mobility users across the emirate.
