Telecom Firms Ordered to Compensate Customers After Ramses Fire

Telecommunications companies in Egypt have been directed to compensate customers following a service disruption caused by the fires at the Ramses telecom exchange. The incident led to widespread outages across mobile and fixed internet services. In response, the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) instructed all service providers to offer immediate compensation to affected customers.

Mobile users are to receive 1 GB of free data, while fixed internet subscribers will be granted 10 GB on their home connections. In cases where the fixed internet remains unstable, customers may instead receive 5 GB of mobile data. The compensation covers both mobile and fixed internet users.
