UAE Condemns Drone Attack on Its Consulate in Iraq’s Kurdistan Region
The ministry described the attack as a dangerous escalation and a threat to regional security and stability.
The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned the unprovoked drone attack targeting its Consulate General in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, which caused material damage but no injuries, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).
MoFA emphasized that attacks on diplomatic missions violate international norms and laws, including the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, which guarantees the protection of diplomatic premises and personnel. The ministry described the attack as a dangerous escalation and a threat to regional security and stability.
The UAE has called on the Iraqi federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government to investigate the incident, identify those responsible, and take all necessary measures to hold the perpetrators accountable.
“The United Arab Emirates firmly rejects attacks aimed at undermining security and stability, and stresses the importance of protecting diplomatic premises and personnel in line with international law,” MoFA said.
