Everything You Need to Know About the UAE’s Media Briefing

As regional tensions escalate, the UAE government held a comprehensive media briefing on March 3rd, 2026, to update the public on national security, civil preparedness, and the measures taken to protect residents, infrastructure, and essential services.

Officials outlined the country’s robust defense readiness, coordinated emergency response systems, and precautionary steps across the economy, aviation, and transport sectors, emphasising that the UAE remains stable, secure, and fully prepared to manage the evolving situation.

Brigadier General Abdul Nasser Mohammed Al-Humaidi, spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, said the UAE is “operating at the highest levels of readiness,” with all necessary defensive capabilities to protect its territory and citizens, “regardless of the duration or intensity of regional escalation.”

He explained that authorities detected 812 Iranian drones, intercepting 755 before they reached targets, while 57 fell within the country. Any injuries or damages, he stated, were caused by debris from interception operations, not direct attacks.

UAE officials also highlighted diplomatic and economic measures to maintain stability. Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, said, “Over 200 nationalities live and work in the UAE safely.

We will not compromise when it comes to protecting them and our sovereignty.” Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, confirmed that strategic reserves are strong, supply chains are secure, and price monitoring is ongoing to prevent exploitation during the crisis.

The country’s emergency and crisis management systems, including round-the-clock media updates and early warning alerts, remain fully active, while limited flights continue to operate under strict safety measures. The UAE emphasised that it seeks de-escalation through dialogue but will not hesitate to act to defend its sovereignty, stability, and people.
