Solar-Powered Marine Ambulance Service Launches in Dubai

The Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services has launched a new sea ambulance boat which runs at 50 miles per hour and has the capacity to transport up to 10 injured people at a time. The new sea ambulance is powered by solar energy, in line with the UAE government’s attempts to reduce the country’s carbon footprint and improve their sustainability.

The foundation sought to pioneer a sustainable ambulance system characterized by efficiency and effectiveness to consolidate Dubai’s position as a distinguished center in the field of providing ambulance services and pre-hospital medical care.

The boat’s facilities include medical equipment, a stretcher, marine navigation equipment, as well as air conditioning and lighting. The new boat also contains an integrated emergency unit, with medical equipment that fits international specifications.
