Sharjah Space & Astronomy Complex Established Under Emiri Decree
The new Sharjah Space and Astronomy Complex will operate under the supervision of the University of Sharjah.
A specialised institution for space science and astronomy has been established in Sharjah under an Emiri Decree issued by Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi.
The new Sharjah Space and Astronomy Complex will operate under the supervision of the University of Sharjah, with the university’s president tasked with defining its objectives, governance structure and operational framework.
As part of the restructuring, all employees, assets, rights and financial allocations of the Sharjah Academy for Astronomy Space Sciences and Technology will be transferred to the new complex. The law that previously established the academy has been repealed.
The transition ensures continuity of personnel and resources, with the complex inheriting the academy’s existing capabilities as it moves into its new institutional structure.
