Over 171,000 Lost Items Returned by Dubai Police in 2025
Police used smart systems to match and return lost belongings across the emirate.
More than 171,000 lost items were returned to their owners across Dubai in 2025, according to Dubai Police.
The force’s General Department of Criminal Investigation, through its Lost and Found Department, handled 868,110 found items during the year, alongside receiving 159,962 reports of lost belongings.
Reports were submitted through police stations, approved drop-off points such as shopping centres and Smart Police Stations, as well as digital reporting platforms.
Authorities said public cooperation and the use of smart systems played a key role in accelerating the process of matching lost items with their owners. The department operates an advanced system that links reports of missing belongings with recovered items, supported by teams working around the clock to verify matches and contact owners.
The service also offers multiple collection options, including direct communication and delivery arrangements where needed.
Residents have been urged to hand in found items through official channels and to report lost vehicle number plates, particularly following periods of rainfall and unstable weather.
Police said specialised teams handle recovery and notification processes for number plates, with the option to arrange delivery through Emirates Post if owners are unable to collect them in person.
