School Term Dates in the UAE Confirmed Through 2029

The Ministry of Education has confirmed the unified academic calendar for the next three academic years, setting out start dates, mid-term breaks and holiday periods for public and private schools across the country.
For the 2026–2027 academic year, classes will begin on August 31st, 2026. The first-term mid-term break will run from October 12th to 18th, 2026. The winter break is scheduled from December 13th, 2026 to January 3rd, 2027, while the spring break will take place from April 5th to 11th, 2027. The academic year will conclude on July 2nd, 2027.
In 2027–2028, the academic year will start on August 30th, 2027. The first-term mid-term break will run from October 11th to 17th, 2027. The winter break will extend from December 13th, 2027 to January 2nd, 2028, followed by a spring break from March 27th to April 2nd, 2028. The school year will end on June 30th, 2028.
For the 2028–2029 academic year, classes will commence on August 26th, 2028. The first-term mid-term break is set for October 16th to 22nd, 2028. The winter break will run from December 11th, 2028 to January 1st, 2029, with the spring break scheduled from March 26th to April 1st, 2029. The academic year will conclude on June 29th, 2029.
Alongside the calendar announcement, a federal decree law has established a governance framework for the National Educational Curriculum. The framework defines educational objectives, language of instruction, duration of classes, graduate attributes, national identity and targeted competencies. Educational institutions are responsible for implementation, while local education authorities will oversee compliance within their jurisdictions.
