Saudi Arabia Joins Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence

Saudi Arabia has joined the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence, a multilateral initiative that brings together more than 40 countries to promote responsible and human-centric development of artificial intelligence and strengthen international cooperation in the sector.

The partnership, hosted by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development and originally launched by the G7, focuses on advancing global standards, sharing expertise and supporting policy coordination around AI technologies.

Saudi Arabia’s accession is being led by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority as part of broader national efforts to localise advanced technologies and expand the contribution of the digital economy to gross domestic product under Vision 2030.

Membership will enable the Kingdom to participate in discussions shaping international AI governance frameworks and technical standards, while contributing to working groups addressing areas such as responsible use, data governance and emerging applications.

The move is also hoped to support Saudi Arabia’s positioning as a regional AI hub by reinforcing its regulatory and institutional framework and strengthening its appeal to global investors and technology partners operating in the artificial intelligence and data ecosystem.
