Parliament has approved Article 526 of the Criminal Procedure Law, allowing remote investigations and trials for defendants, witnesses, victims and experts. It also permits remote handling of pretrial detention, precautionary measures and appeals while enabling witness identity protection via modern technology.
Article 527 was also passed, allowing remote procedures for children. The passing of Article 528, meanwhile, mandates prior notification and proper facilities for remote legal proceedings.
