New Al Qudra Road Bridge Opens to Cut Traffic Delays in Dubai

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority has opened a new 600-metre bridge at the intersection of Al Qudra Road and the link road connecting Arabian Ranches with Dubai Studio City, as part of wider works to improve traffic flow along one of the city’s fastest-growing corridors.
The bridge, which carries four lanes in each direction, is designed to significantly ease congestion at the junction. According to the authority, the upgrade has increased capacity at the intersection by 191%, from 6,600 vehicles per hour to 19,200 vehicles per hour, while reducing average waiting times by 55%, from 113 seconds to 52 seconds. The corridor stretches from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road through Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street and Emirates Road along Al Qudra Road.
A second bridge at the intersection of Al Qudra Road and Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street is scheduled to open on February 15th, 2026. The 700-metre northern bridge, providing two lanes in each direction, will operate temporarily until the southern bridge is completed. It will serve traffic moving towards Al Qudra City and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road.
The wider Al Qudra Road development project includes upgrading multiple intersections, constructing bridges totalling 2.7 kilometres, and widening and improving more than 11.6 kilometres of roadway. Once complete, the authority said the works will reduce journey times along the corridor by up to 70%, cutting travel time from 9.4 minutes to 2.8 minutes.
The corridor serves several residential and mixed-use areas with an estimated 400,000 residents and visitors, including Arabian Ranches 1 and 2, Dubai Motor City, Dubai Studio City, DAMAC Hills, Mudon and The Sustainable City.
