‘Mother of the Nation’ Endowment Launched for Orphans in the UAE

The Endowments and Minors’ Funds Authority has launched the ‘Mother of the Nation’ Endowment for Orphans to establish a sustainable funding source dedicated to orphan care in the UAE.
Rolled out under the patronage of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the initiative is designed to provide ongoing support through endowed resources, creating a structured and long-term mechanism to improve the quality of life of beneficiaries. The authority said the programme seeks to promote endowment as a tool for community development while strengthening social cohesion nationwide.
The endowment builds on the humanitarian legacy of the Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who positioned charitable giving and social responsibility as central national values. It also reflects principles championed by Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Mother of the Nation, and has been launched during the UAE’s Year of Family.
According to the authority, the programme aims to encourage wider participation from individuals and institutions to support vulnerable groups through a sustainable funding model rather than one-time donations.
The launch follows a previous endowment campaign held during the Year of Community, which raised nearly AED 1 billion within four weeks from more than 200,000 donors. Contributions to the new endowment can be made through the authority’s official website.
