QBD Leads $7M Series B Round for Italian AI Startup Content
Italian enterprise AI startup opens Doha hub after $7 million Series B extension.
Milan-based enterprise AI startup Contents has closed a $7 million Series B extension led by Qatar Development Bank, with participation from Alkemia Capital, and established its Middle East operations in Doha.
The company has opened a local office in Qatar and appointed its first Doha-based team member, positioning the new hub as a base for expansion across the GCC and wider MENA region.
Founded in 2021 by Massimiliano Squillace, Contents describes itself as a work execution platform for global enterprises. Rather than focusing solely on content generation, the platform orchestrates AI agents, enterprise knowledge and approval workflows to manage end-to-end business processes.
“Most AI companies sell generation. We sell execution. The next phase of enterprise AI is not about models — it’s about who controls the workflow layer between intelligence and business outcomes. That’s the layer we are defining,” Squillace said.
The platform operates in more than 25 languages, including 15 Arabic dialects spanning Gulf, Egyptian, Levantine and Maghrebi variants. It is designed as a model-agnostic system, integrating tools from Meta, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and Mistral to select the most suitable model for each task without vendor lock-in.
The Doha operation will serve as a centre for Arabic-language AI development and enterprise client growth, supporting localisation, governance and workflow orchestration at scale. With the new funding, the company plans to accelerate regional expansion and deepen investment in advanced AI systems tailored to Arabic-speaking markets.
