Linah’s Historic King Abdulaziz Palace is Now Open to the Public
The palace is considered the most prominent landmark in Saudi Arabia's Northern Borders region for its former political, social and religious functions.
The Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Nature Reserve Development Authority has officially opened the historic King Abdulaziz Palace in Linah as part of the Darb Zubaida Winter Season’s cultural programme.
Located 105 kilometres south of Rafha in Saudi Arabia’s Northern Borders region, the palace is one of the area’s most significant historical landmarks. Spanning approximately 4,320 square metres, the site previously served as the administrative headquarters of the Linah Principality, tracing King Abdulaziz’s role in state-building and unifying the Kingdom.
Constructed using traditional materials such as adobe, mud, and stone, the palace reflects classic Saudi architectural design. Its complex includes a mosque, a central water well, a courtyard, a majlis, and multiple rooms that highlight its former political, social, and religious functions.
The palace is open daily from 3PM to 10PM throughout the Darb Zubaida Winter Season. Visitors can also take part in activities at the nearby Linah Camp, including stargazing and guided introductions to the reserve’s biodiversity.
