King Fahd Causeway to Bahrain Reopens After Temporary Security Closure
Cross-border traffic between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain has resumed after a brief suspension.
The King Fahd Causeway has reopened following a temporary closure triggered by heightened security alerts, restoring cross-border traffic between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
According to the General Authority for King Fahd Causeway, operations resumed on April 7th after a safety assessment was completed, with vehicle flow returning to normal.
Movement across the 25-kilometre bridge system had been suspended earlier in the day as a precautionary measure after security warnings were issued in the area. Authorities halted traffic to ensure commuter safety while conditions were reviewed.
The crossing remained closed until the assessment concluded, after which authorities confirmed that travel could safely resume. The King Fahd Causeway serves as the primary land link between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, with the reopening restoring regular movement following the short disruption.
