IMAX to Install Four Cinematic Laser Systems in Saudi Cinemas
IMAX and muvi Cinemas are bringing state-of-the-art Laser systems to four commercial centres.
IMAX Corporation and muvi Cinemas have announced their first collaboration with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to install four new state-of-the-art IMAX with Laser systems across some of the country’s biggest commercial centres.
As the largest exhibitor in Saudi Arabia, muvi Cinemas will bring two IMAX systems to Riyadh and one system to Jeddah’s Mall of Arabia. The first installation will be in Dhahran. Three of the installations are set to be complete by the end of 2024, and the fourth and final will follow in 2025.
Saudi Arabia has consistently ranked among the IMAX’s top 20 countries worldwide since its first full year of commercial operations in the country in 2019. Recent releases like ‘Oppenheimer’ have broken records for IMAX at the Saudi box office. The blockbuster film is the highest grossing IMAX title ever in the Kingdom, and the country continues to be a prime market for IMAX Hollywood releases.
