Egyptian director and screenwriter Daoud Abdel Sayed has passed away at the age of 79.
He began his career as an assistant to Youssef Chahine before emerging as one of Egyptian cinema’s most influential filmmakers.
Abdel Sayed’s work left a lasting mark on the industry and he is regarded as a pioneer of the “New Realism” movement in Egyptian cinema. His notable films include ‘Rasayel El Bahr’, ‘Ard El Khof’, and ‘Kit Kat’.
