NYU Abu Dhabi Closes Campus Due to Iranian Strike Threats
The announcement comes after US-Israeli strikes on Iranian universities over the weekend.
NYU Abu Dhabi has temporarily closed its campus following threats from Iran to target US-affiliated universities across the Middle East, according to a statement shared by NYU News on Instagram.
The announcement comes after US-Israeli strikes on Iranian universities over the weekend, with Iranian officials urging people to stay at least one kilometre away from such campuses.
In a message to its community, the university said the closure was issued “out of an abundance of caution,” with access to campus suspended for all students, faculty and staff. Classes will continue remotely.
Earlier this month, NYU Abu Dhabi had already moved learning online after missiles struck near the area, though the campus had remained open for essential services at the time.
