EgyptAir Suspends Flights to 13 Arab Cities Amid US-Israel Strikes o
EgyptAir said it is closely monitoring the situation and will update passengers as developments unfold.
Egypt’s national carrier EgyptAir said on Saturday February 28th it had suspended flights from Cairo to 13 cities in the Middle East until further notice due to airspace closures in parts of the region.
The airline said services to Kuwait, Dubai, Doha, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Al Qassim, Dammam, Erbil, Baghdad, Amman, Beirut and Muscat had been halted.
EgyptAir said the decision follows “ongoing regional tensions and the closure of airspace by some neighbouring countries”. It added that it is monitoring developments and coordinating with relevant authorities.
The move comes as regional tensions escalate following the US and Israel’s targeted operation on Iran and retaliatory strikes on US bases in the Gulf. Several neighbouring countries, including the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, and Kuwait, have closed parts of their airspace.
