Economic Security Centre of Dubai Launches National AI Fraud Campaign
The campaign targets deepfakes, phishing, marketplace scams and fake investment schemes.
Dubai has introduced a nationwide awareness campaign focused on economic fraud increasingly enabled by artificial intelligence and digital tools. The initiative is being led by the Economic Security Centre of Dubai under the slogan “Strong Economy… An Aware Society,” with a stated aim of helping individuals, businesses and institutions recognise and respond to evolving scam tactics. The campaign highlights a range of schemes currently targeting the public, including misleading commercial advertising, deepfake manipulation, online marketplace scams, phishing via email and SMS, and fake investment offers promising unrealistic returns. It also points to manipulation in cryptocurrency and financial markets, alongside risks tied to fraudulent business partnerships and the theft of bank card information through deceptive digital links. The centre is also encouraging public participation by sharing awareness messages and experiences using the hashtags #StayAware and #TogetherWeProtectOurEconomy.
