Dubai RTA to Open More Vehicle Testing Centres Across the Emirate

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has opened applications for new vehicle testing and registration centres across the emirate, in a move aimed at improving access to services and creating opportunities for private operators.

Deira, Bur Dubai and Mohammed Bin Rashid City have been identified as priority areas for expansion, with both existing operators and new investors able to apply to establish centres or open additional branches, subject to regulatory requirements.

Created in response to population growth and rising demand for transport services, the initiative is part of a wider effort to expand the network of service centres and bring vehicle testing and registration closer to residential and commercial communities.

Additionally, it seeks to encourage greater private sector participation through public-private partnerships, with applications assessed in line with existing laws and policies to ensure service quality, improve inspection processes, and support road safety.

Dubai currently has 29 approved vehicle testing and licensing centres equipped with modern systems and staffed by trained personnel.
