EGP 3.32 Million Approved for Families of Irregular Workers

A total of EGP 3.32 million in grants has been approved to support families of deceased and injured irregular workers following a series of incidents across Menoufia, Assiut and Giza.

The funds were allocated by the Ministry of Labour through its central account for health and social care for irregular employment.

The support includes EGP 200,000 for each deceased worker’s family and EGP 20,000 for each injured worker. In Menoufia, EGP 1.26 million was approved for 25 beneficiaries, including families of five deceased workers and 13 injured individuals, following a collision involving a microbus transporting agricultural workers. In Assiut, EGP 580,000 was allocated to 23 beneficiaries, including one death and 19 injuries, after a truck overturned while transporting workers.

In Giza, EGP 1.48 million was approved for 31 beneficiaries, including seven deaths and four injuries, resulting from a vehicle fire involving agricultural workers returning from a farm.
