Cairo University to Host Its First AI Conference on October 18th
The conference will include panels, workshops, and roundtables discussing AI ethics, governance, and sectoral implementations.

Cairo University has scheduled its first International Artificial Intelligence Conference for October 18th, under the banner CU AI Nexus 2025. The university sees the event as a platform that links academia, industry, and public sector stakeholders to showcase AI’s role in health, education, governance and industry. The conference aligns with Cairo University’s AI strategy launched in October 2024 — the first such institutional plan in Egypt, Africa, and the Middle East. It focuses on integrating education, innovation, research, and public awareness in response to the demands of the digital age. Event organisers say the conference will include panels, workshops, and roundtables discussing AI ethics, governance, and sectoral implementations. The gathering aims to surface actionable recommendations for decision makers in government, business, and research institutions. In recent months, the university has also undertaken preparatory steps: issuing its first responsible AI policy, rolling out an AI digital platform, and embedding AI courses in curricula. These efforts reinforce the institution’s ambition to position itself as a regional leader in AI and its applications.
