Autism-Friendly Mobile Browser Debuts in UAE
The new web browser increases accessibility of the internet for people with autism and other sensory issues.
UAE-based technology group operator e&, in partnership with communications and advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi ME, has launched a mobile version of its Wider Web Extension which is tailored towards individuals with autism.
Current web interface designs can present sensory and processing challenges for autistic users. The new e& Wider Web Extension offers a calmer browsing experience by blocking distracting pop-ups, disabling video auto-play, customising fonts, adjusting colours, and simplifying website interfaces. By leveraging AI technology, this tool aims to make web browsing a more comfortable and accommodating experience for autistic people.
