Arabian Leopard Fund Partners With Panthera Arabia
The organisations have signed an agreement to expand habitat protection and breeding efforts for the endangered Arabian leopard.
The Arabian Leopard Fund and Panthera Arabia have formalised a strategic partnership to strengthen conservation efforts for the Arabian leopard, one of the world’s most endangered subspecies, coinciding with World Wildlife Day.
The agreement, signed through a memorandum of understanding, aims to enhance cooperation across the Arabian Peninsula to protect the species within its natural habitats. The collaboration will prioritise safeguarding critical habitats considered essential to the leopard’s survival. Under the framework, breeding programmes will be developed to support long-term conservation objectives, while capacity-building initiatives will train practitioners and field teams to improve wildlife management and monitoring.
The partnership also includes community awareness campaigns designed to increase public engagement and understanding of the species’ ecological importance.
The two organisations stated that aligning the agreement with World Wildlife Day highlights the need for coordinated international action grounded in scientific conservation methods. The approach combines habitat protection, managed breeding, skills development and public outreach within a unified structure.
