AUD & Penn Medicine to Open the UAE's First US Medical School
The partnership moves to implementation with plans for clinical training and research collaborations across hospitals and research centres in Dubai and the wider region.
The American University in Dubai has partnered with the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine to launch the UAE’s first United States medical school in Dubai.
The new American University in Dubai School of Medicine will offer a Doctor of Medicine programme that combines American medical education with a focus on the UAE’s healthcare needs. The goal is to prepare physicians to deliver care locally and internationally while establishing Dubai as a hub for advanced medical training and research.
The partnership will draw on Penn’s expertise in global medical education to shape the curriculum, while building strong research capacity and hands-on clinical exposure through collaborations with hospitals and healthcare providers in the UAE. Beyond training physicians, the school is also positioned to drive innovation in medical research, public health and patient care across the region.
