AED 400 Fine for Obstructed Licence Plates in the UAE
The warning covers cases where bicycles or other loads block numbers, the vehicle category or the issuing authority.
Motorists in the UAE will face an AED 400 fine if their vehicle licence plates are covered or obstructed in any way that prevents the numbers, vehicle category, or issuing authority from being clearly visible. Abu Dhabi Police stated that the rule applies to cases where bicycles or other items are loaded onto vehicles and end up blocking the plate or any identifying details on it. Authorities said they will intensify traffic monitoring and take legal action against any vehicle that fails to display its plate numbers clearly, in line with Article 27(b) of the Federal Traffic Law.
