2,226 'Unauthorised Buildings' Demolished Across Egypt in One Week
The demolitions are part of the first phase of wave 22 of the campaign to remove encroachments on state and agricultural lands.
The Egyptian government demolished 2,226 unauthorised buildings and cleared 533 encroachments on agricultural lands within one week. This resulted in the reclamation of about 400,000 square meters and 1,467 fedans.
These demolitions are part of the first phase of wave 22 of the campaign to remove encroachments on state and agricultural lands, which began on January 27th and will continue until April 12th. The campaign aims to address the issue of encroachment on state properties and unauthorised construction.
During this phase, Beheira Governorate led in removal cases, reclaiming 77,000 square meters by demolishing 468 unauthorised buildings, followed by Qena Governorate with over 52,000 square meters reclaimed after removing 119 buildings, and Aswan Governorate with over 42,000 square meters reclaimed after removing 79 buildings.
