Mubadala & Aldar Properties Acquire The Link Assets For $178M
The asset includes office, residential and research facilities, adding income-generating property tied to AI and clean energy.
Aldar Properties and Mubadala Investment Company have acquired The Link at Masdar City for $178 million, adding a fully leased mixed-use asset to their joint venture portfolio.
The acquisition brings a single property linked to research and technology clusters into the investment vehicle, which was established in 2024 to scale income-generating assets aligned with Abu Dhabi’s long-term development strategy.
The Link spans approximately 32,000 square metres across five buildings and is leased to tenants including Masdar and Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence. The complex includes LEED Platinum-certified office space, a net-zero energy headquarters, and integrated residential and event facilities.
Officials said the acquisition reflects continued investment in assets connected to advanced technology and sustainability sectors, with Masdar City positioned as a hub for businesses operating in clean energy, artificial intelligence and related fields.
The transaction forms part of a broader strategy to expand a portfolio of stabilised, income-generating properties, as institutional investors increase exposure to infrastructure supporting emerging industries.
