Cloudera & Amazon Web Services Launch Saudi Data & AI Platform

US-based enterprise data platform provider Cloudera has announced the launch of its data and AI analytics platform on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Saudi Arabia Region, enabling organisations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to store, manage and analyse data within local infrastructure.

The deployment supports national goals around data sovereignty and regulatory compliance by allowing customers to maintain full control over data governance while leveraging enterprise-grade AI and analytics capabilities. Cloudera stated that this move aligns closely with the Kingdom’s Saudi Vision 2030 agenda for digital transformation.

According to the report, the global sovereign-cloud market is projected to grow at an average annual rate of 27 per cent through to 2027, reaching a value of roughly $258 billion. This trend underscores the increasing prioritisation of localised data infrastructure and cloud operations governed within national boundaries.

From a broader ecosystem perspective, the launch reflects KSA’s push to develop its sovereign-cloud capacity and reduce reliance on external data centres. It also positions the Kingdom to attract further investment in cloud-native innovation, especially in regulated sectors such as government, financial services and energy.
