Sebi International Kids & Family Film Festival to Be Held in Qena
Running from January 30th to February 3rd, 2026, The festival aims to highlight cinema’s role in nurturing imagination, empathy, and family values.

The inaugural Sebi International Kids & Family Film Festival will be held in Qena from January 30th to February 3rd, 2026, marking a cultural milestone for Upper Egypt. Organised under the patronage of Minister of Culture Dr Ahmed Fouad Hano, the festival will be led by film critic and cultural diplomat Dr Mustafa Fahmi, who also serves as Vice Editor of Al-Ahram. The festival aims to highlight cinema’s role in nurturing imagination, empathy, and family values. Through screenings, workshops, and interactive activities, the event will focus on themes of childhood, identity, and storytelling, showcasing feature films, short films, documentaries, and animations from Egypt and abroad. The Sebi International Kids & Family Film Festival will also feature educational workshops and panels designed to empower young filmmakers and storytellers, offering them opportunities to engage directly with international industry figures.
