Royal Philharmonic Orchestra Will Perform Egypt’s Iconic Film Scores

The Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra will perform works by two of Egypt’s most acclaimed composers – Ammar El Sherei and Hesham Nazih – whose music has long resonated with audiences in the country.

The ‘Immortal Melodies’ concert – part of The Pyramids Echo Festival’s inaugural edition – marks the second event following the opening night featuring legendary pianist Lang Lang and The Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra. Taking place on November 25th, the performance will also welcome guest of honour Amira Selim to the stage.

Ammar El Sherei’s compositions will be performed under the baton of Hany Farahat, while Ben Palmer will conduct Hesham Nazih’s works. The orchestra will be joined by the Festival Choir, led by Choir Master Adham Ezzat, performing in collaboration with the GUC Choir, under Choir Master Ingy Lotfy.

El Sherei – a towering icon in Egyptian music – boasts a repertoire of over 200 compositions, many of which have been immortalised in beloved television series and films such as ‘Raafat El Hagan’ and ‘El Shahd We El Demou’. Nazih, meanwhile, is no stranger to Egyptian cinema, having composed scores for acclaimed films including ‘Tito’ and ‘The Blue Elephant’.
