Ithra's 'Bedayat' Exhibit Traces the Evolution of Modern Art in Saudi
From paintings and prints to archival photographs and historical documents,, the exhibition pieces together the story of Saudi's early days of modern art.
Ithra is inviting visitors to trace the beginnings of Saudi Arabia's modern art movement with 'Bedayat', an exhibition running from July 13th to November 7th, 2026.
Spanning the era from the 1960s through the late 1980s, 'Bedayat' explores how Saudi artists developed a visual language rooted in local heritage while engaging with artistic movements from around the world in the formative decades of the Kingdom's modern art scene.
Organised by the Visual Arts Commission in partnership with Ithra, the exhibition brings together more than 150 artworks by 68 pioneering Saudi artists, alongside over 200 archival photographs, documents, and multimedia materials.
Alongside the exhibition, visitors can also attend talks, workshops, and training sessions.
