Grand Egyptian Museum Expands Online Ticketing Through Telecom Apps

The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) has integrated its official website into the mobile applications of Egypt's four telecommunications operators, creating a secure new channel for visitors to book tickets online.

The museum's website, www.gem.eg, is now accessible through the apps of Vodafone Egypt, the museum's official technology partner, as well as Orange Egypt, e& Egypt and WE. The initiative is intended to provide millions of users with direct access to the museum's verified booking platform while strengthening cybersecurity.

According to the museum, the integration is designed to help protect visitors from fraudulent websites and fake booking links that use the museum's name to obtain personal information or carry out online scams. Officials stressed that the museum's website remains the only official platform for purchasing tickets and accessing visitor information.

The museum is also studying the introduction of mobile wallet payments through the telecom operators' digital payment platforms. If implemented, the option would complement existing bank card payments and offer visitors greater flexibility when booking online.
