Italian Artist Michelangelo Pistoletto Joins Forever Is Now 5
The legendary artist brings new work to Cairo and offers Egyptian artists a chance to study in Italy with first-year funding.
Michelangelo Pistoletto is heading to the pyramids—and he’s bringing a call to action. As Art D’Egypte’s internationally renowned exhibition Forever Is Now returns for its fifth edition, the Italian icon of Arte Povera arrives not just with an artwork, but an invitation.
His towering new installation will be featured at the Great Pyramids from October 30th to November 22nd. But that’s only half the story. In collaboration with Art D’Égypte and the Italian Institute of Culture in Cairo, Pistoletto’s foundation is offering one Egyptian artist the chance to study in Italy’s Accademia Unidee for free.
The renowned artist’s career spans over six decades with exhibitions at the world’s most prestigious institutions, including the MoMA, Tate Modern and Venice Biennale, among others.
