Over the past fortnight, amidst the last few days of Ramadan and the revelry of Eid al-Fitr, artists across the Middle East and North Africa region have been proactively releasing new music across all genres, from electronic and experimental to alt-pop and R&B. In this new instalment of Shuffle, we have curated a selection of the standouts of these tunes.
Egyptian post-mahragant trailblazer Shobra El General comes through with ‘El Moled’, the first single from his upcoming album, The New World, while Moroccan artist Manal returns with groovy Maghrebi R&B fusion on ‘Kalimat’. The playlist also features Lebanese rock rousers El Tase3 with ‘Shbabeek’, and Ahmed Bahaa with ‘Kolo Bey2aldek’.
