Your Etihad Flight Could Soon Connect to UAE Rail Travel
The two companies are exploring a shuttle between Zayed International Airport and Mohammed Bin Zayed City Passenger Station.
Etihad Airways and Etihad Rail are studying an integrated air-and-rail travel model that could connect passengers arriving at Zayed International Airport with the UAE’s national railway network.
The proposals include a dedicated shuttle between the airport and Mohammed Bin Zayed City Passenger Station, alongside integrated booking and passenger services that would combine the flight and rail portions of a journey.
If developed, the system would allow travellers arriving through Abu Dhabi to continue to destinations across the UAE without arranging the air and rail legs separately.
The two companies are also assessing how booking, passenger information and other services could be combined into a single process, with the airport-to-station shuttle acting as the physical link between the two networks.
The initiative remains in the study phase, with Zayed International Airport and Mohammed Bin Zayed City Passenger Station identified as the main connection points for onward journeys across the country.
