A New Eco-Friendly Mountaintop Retreat Is Coming to Sharjah in 2026
Scheduled to open in 2026, Sharjah’s ‘Above the Clouds’ retreat on Mount Deem will offer panoramic views, eco-landscaping, and cultural experiences above Kalba’s rugged terrain.

A new high-altitude escape is coming to Sharjah. Perched 850 metres above sea level on Mount Deem, 'Above the Clouds' is a mountaintop retreat set to open in 2026, designed to immerse visitors in nature while honouring the cultural richness of the region.
Shaped like a crescent and spanning 4,700 square metres across two levels, the retreat will offer panoramic views over Kalba’s coastline and the surrounding mountain valleys.
The upper level will feature a restaurant, an open-air café, and a reading space, while the ground floor will include a multipurpose hall, a prayer room, restrooms, a small theatre, several viewing platforms, landscaped areas, and a children’s play zone.
Nature sits at the heart of the project’s vision. So far, over 4,500 trees have been planted on-site—including olive, apple, pomegranate, and grape varieties—with ecological landscaping designed to complement the mountain’s natural topography.
With its focus on nature and culture, Above the Clouds is set to become one of Sharjah’s most distinctive high-altitude retreats.
