Cairo Water Week to Focus on Water Security, Climate & AI

The ninth edition of Cairo Water Week will take place from October 25th to 29th, bringing together ministers, officials, researchers, experts and representatives of regional and international organisations to discuss water security and sustainable development.

Held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, this year’s edition will focus on water as a driver of peace, shared prosperity and sustainability amid growing pressures from scarcity, climate change and rising demand for natural resources.

The programme includes 114 technical and scientific sessions covering water resources management, irrigation systems, water security and the use of modern technologies and artificial intelligence in monitoring and administration. Discussions will also address desalination, wastewater treatment, coastal management, climate adaptation and shared water governance within international law.

The week will also host the Seventh Arab Water Conference on October 26th and 27th under the theme ‘Water in the Arab Region: Partnerships for Peace and Sustainable Development’. The conference will bring together Arab states and relevant institutions to discuss shared challenges, climate impacts and cooperation on water management.

Additional specialised events will connect policymakers, experts, international institutions and development partners to exchange case studies, review new technologies and explore partnerships in water, irrigation and treatment projects.

Cairo Water Week is organised by the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation as part of wider efforts to strengthen international cooperation and knowledge exchange around water management and sustainable development.
