Palestinian Designer Ayham Hassan’s Doha Design Biennial Showcase

Palestinian designer and textile artist Ayham Hassan is bringing his work to Doha for Design Doha Biennial 2026, showcasing pieces rooted in Palestinian heritage, craftsmanship and cultural memory as part of the biennial’s Arab Design Now exhibition.

Curated by Nour Al Sayeh, ‘Arab Design Now’ brings together designers and creative voices from across the region, exploring the intersections of identity, heritage and contemporary design. Hassan’s participation follows a significant year for the designer, whose work was selected for The Only True Protest Is Beauty, the inaugural presentation by the Fondazione Dries Van Noten, held in Venice in April alongside the 61st Venice Biennale. He was also part of Fashion Trust Arabia in 2025.

Speaking about his participation in Doha, Hassan shared that his practice is “deeply rooted in the stories, craftsmanship, and cultural memory of Palestine.” He added that he was excited to bring his work to the city and contribute to a wider conversation around “design, identity, heritage, and the possibilities of contemporary design.”

Design Doha Biennial 2026 opened on November 5th, with opening days running until November 7th. Its exhibitions will remain open to visitors until January 31, 2027.
