Somabay to Host Egypt's International Equestrian Competition

Egypt’s international showjumping scene is heading from the Pyramids to the Red Sea, as Somabay prepares to host the Egypt International Equestrian Competition from December 3rd to 6th, bringing together elite riders from Egypt and abroad for four days of global competition.

Held in partnership with the Egyptian Equestrian Federation, under the auspices of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and accredited by the International Equestrian Federation (FEI), the competition forms part of the 2026/2027 FEI Jumping World Cup Arab League.

Classified as a CSI2*-W event, it falls under the Arab League’s North African Sub-League, where riders compete for qualifying points towards the 2027 Longines FEI Jumping World Cup Final in Gothenburg, Sweden, scheduled for March 24th to 28th.

The competition will feature several showjumping classes, including a 1.45-metre Grand Prix of Cairo that serves as a World Cup qualifier, giving riders another opportunity to earn points on the international circuit.
