Shreet Cocktail March 12 - 26
In Shreet Cocktail playlist, the SceneNoise team selects its favorite tracks released across the past fortnight in the MENA region, across genres.
In Shreet Cocktail SceneNoise features a selection of its favorite tracks released during the last couple of weeks in Ramadan, curated from across the Middle East and North Africa.
We kick things off with "Ya Khsara," the latest track from singer-songwriter Ghaliaa. The production boasts traditional Arabic arrangements, featuring a tasteful blend of acoustic guitars, piano, and saxophone that provides a beautiful backdrop for Ghaliaa's heartfelt lyrics. Her subtle yet captivating vocal performance harmonizes seamlessly with the instrumentation.
Next up, we have indie-pop favorites Donia Wael and El Waili collaborating on "Lamma" for the Ramadan series "Lahzet Ghadab." They deliver their signature indie-pop and lo-fi sound, established from their first collaboration. El Waili's distinct production again highlights Donia's vocals, showcasing their undeniable chemistry and resulting in another heartwarming track.
Rounding out this Shreet Cocktail selection is the electronic Syrian duo Sharake with their track "Hafar," released through Chakra Records. Known for blending techno with Eastern melodies, Sharake delivers a composition that feels both natural and adventurous.
