Raed Bots Unveils Egypt’s First Locally Developed Industrial Robot

Egypt’s first locally developed industrial robot has been launched and handed over for use in an industrial application following a development programme led by Raed Bots in cooperation with the Industrial Modernization Center and Qubee.

Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem attended a live demonstration of the robot, which has been designed for integration into production environments rather than as a laboratory prototype.

Developers said the robot currently has an 80% local component ratio, with a target of 90% once its motor is manufactured domestically.

Hashem said the project forms part of efforts to localise industrial technology and expand domestic manufacturing of machinery and production lines. He added that the ministry will follow the robot’s performance at Qubee to assess whether it meets operational requirements.

Ayman Elbayaa, Assistant Minister of Industry for Digital Transformation and Executive Director of the Industrial Modernization Center, said the programme is intended to move locally developed technologies from engineering and research into practical factory use, including Industry 4.0 applications.

Three cooperation agreements were also signed around the launch. The IMC and Raed Bots will provide technical support to industrial facilities, Raed Bots will supply robots for Qubee packaging machinery, and Mansoura University’s Faculty of Engineering will receive educational robots for research and training.
