In this week’s instalment of Rap of the Week, the SceneNoise team rounds up the standout releases from across the MENA hip-hop landscape. This edition spotlights new cuts from the likes of Shabjdeed, Afroto, Wingz and Didine Canon 16.

Palestinian rapper Shabjdeed surprise-drops ‘SLV’, a diss track aimed at pop star Saint Levant, while Afroto and Abyusif team up on the hard-hitting trap cut ‘Cha Cha Matcha’. Elsewhere, Algerian rap heavyweight Didine Canon 16 makes his long-awaited return with ‘Zamani’, a deeply personal reflection on the realities of undocumented North African migration.

Egyptian rapper Mousv links up with Shobra El General for the bouncy shaabi-rap cut ‘100 Lon’, while Sudanese artist Hype delivers one of his most introspective offerings yet with ‘Hayati Film’. Rounding out this week’s playlist are fresh releases from Azwed, Konstancy, Mosalem, Nubi and Wingz.
