Molotof Reimagines 47Soul’s ‘Intro to Shampstep’ in New Molowave Remix

Egyptian producer Molotof has released a new remix of 47Soul’s ‘Intro to Shampstep’, reworking the group’s electro-dabke anthem into a shaabi-meets-hip-hop fusion laced with acid-licked arpeggiated synths and vocal chops. 

Molotof first toyed with the idea of reimaging the track back in 2021, approaching the original production as a kind of ‘sonic dialogue’ between his signature molowave style and the pioneering shamstep sound of the Palestinian-Jordanian outfit. “I was already a huge fan of the track and its message,” he explains, “I saw a space to fuse their rhythm with my own voice as part of the Molowave project.” 

It wasn’t until two years later that 47Soul reached back out to him to collaborate on the remix, inviting him to add a different layer to the track structure by incorporating his own vocals and lyrics that mirror the spirit of unity and the off-kilter energy driving their project. “It’s a genuine meeting point between a voice from Cairo and a voice from the Levant.” Molot says, “Our sounds don’t contradict but rather complement each other, as they carry the same message.”

وأوضح مولوتوف أن فكرة الريمكس بدأت عام 2021 كتجربة موسيقية، حيث رأى في التراك الأصلي فرصة لـ”حوار سمعي” بين أسلوبه الخاص وصوت الفرقة الفلسطينيّة الأردنيّة. وأضاف: “كنت من المعجبين بالأغنية وبرسالتها، وشُفت فيها مساحة لدمج الإيقاع الفريد للشام ستيب مع صوتي في مشروع Molowave.”

وبعد مرور عامين، عادت الفرقة للتواصل معه، ليضيف طبقة جديدة على العمل، تشمل صوته وكلماته التي تعكس إحساسه تجاه التعاون والرسالة التي يسعون لتقديمها.

مولوتوف اعتبر الريمكس أكثر من مجرد إعادة توزيع، مؤكدًا أنه تجسيدًا لرؤية فنية مشتركة ورسالة واضحة عن الوحدة: “هو تعاون فعلي بين صوت من القاهرة وصوت من بلاد الشام، يوضح إن أصواتنا المختلفة مش متضادة، بل متكاملة، وتحمل رسالة واحدة.”

الريمكس الجديد متاح الآن ليستمع إليه الجمهور، ويعتبر محطة جديدة في رحلة التجارب الصوتية التي تجمع بين روح التراث العربي والاتجاهات الموسيقية الحديثة.
