Tourist Arrivals in Egypt Reach 9 Million in First Half of 2026
Around 9 million tourists visited Egypt in the first six months of 2026, marking a 4% increase year-on-year.
Around 9 million tourists visited Egypt during the first half of 2026, marking a 4% increase compared with the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.
The latest figures indicate continued growth for the tourism sector despite regional instability. According to the ministry, incentive packages introduced to support airlines and maintain regular flight schedules helped offset the impact of higher air travel costs and sustain visitor arrivals.
The announcement follows another strong performance earlier this year, when 6.1 million tourists visited Egypt during the first four months of 2026, up 7% year-on-year. Government data also showed that tourist arrivals reached a record 19 million in 2025 as the country continued efforts to expand connectivity and attract more international visitors.
